It's winter, so I'm covered in garments from head to toe. Sometimes, though, I might need a little help not looking like a ghost, and I don't want to invest the time and/or money in a gradual tan.
Although body makeup is not a new concept, commercially-available products now have incredible quality. Here are two of my favorites:
Vita Liberata Body Blur
This product is bananas. You apply it to dry skin, wait a few seconds for it to dry, then you look like you just returned from vacation.
And it does not come off until you wash it off. I used this on my legs while attending a wedding, then fell asleep on while hotel sheets. There were no streaks the next morning.
I've even stepped into the shower with the water on full blast, and nothing comes off until you use soap. I could see it rubbing a bit if you're wearing white, you're sweating and the white material continuously rubs against your skin, like the under arm area...but plenty of brides vouch for this not ruining their wedding dresses.
Melanie Mills Hollywood Gleam
After the pleasure of meeting Melanie Mills during one of her master classes...
I have now purchased four of her amazing products. Used alone, this body makeup not only imparts color, but also an insane sheen that makes you look seriously flawless.
PS Melanie is an Emmy Award-winning makeup artist and developed this product for the dancers and celebs on Dancing With the Stars...so you know it's good.
Body makeup masks imperfections, gives you a tan in seconds, and makes you feel more confident, especially when baring skin. This is me last December without body makeup on the left, and with it on the right:
